
Summer Banton is a singer/ songwriter and instrumentalist from South-East London. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, and Lauryn Hill to name a few, Summerʼs unique artistry effortlessly creates room for her to weave together classic R&B sounds with a modern twist. Her take on music allows her to embrace her own unique sonic style, a distinctive sound which also has imprints of the UKʼs contemporary music scene. Describing her sound as “a fusion of contemporary R&B, with a nostalgic touch of 90s/2000s”, Summer highlights, “my music is R&B essence inspired by the nostalgic Soul & R&B I grew up on, along with the new genres I listen to today.” Her musical journey has been heavily influenced by her upbringing; growing up in a household steeped in music, her roots trace back to legendary reggae artist Maxi Priest.
Summer continues to turn heads and hone authentic support from new fans, her built up community and respected tastemakers across the music and entertainment space. Taking the stage over the last few months to solidify her presence and love for sharing her craft, Summer has performed on platforms including BBC Introducing Live at The Lexington, was the supporting act for Cameroonian songstress Libiancaʼs European tour, special guest for North London singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Natanya at The Grace, and for The Blueʼs Project at historic The Jazz Café.
