Cross The Tracks 2025, We’re Home Again
We’ve had some time to reflect and decompress after the Bank Holiday, and we just want to say thank you.
For the past six years, you’ve been showing up to Brockwell Park bringing your energy, love and passion to Cross The Tracks. Each time those gates open and we see you all grooving, we truly feel like we’re ‘Home Again’, so we just wanna reminisce a little bit…
Starting off strong, Lynda Dawn’s sultry and soulful sounds had us swaying. From the boogie of her debut album ‘At First Light’ to the classic soul of her latest ‘11th Hour’, Dawn and her band shone in the afternoon sun, bringing the vibes to our corner of South London. As the drinks started flowing, Fabiana Palladino brought her 80s-tinged power-soul to the Locomotion stage, playing the hits from her self-titled debut album to a packed-out tent.
Sliding onto the Mainline stage, the legendary Cymande were bridging generations with their timeless grooves. After four decades apart, their 70s hits, ‘Getting It Back’ and ‘Brothers on the Slide’, had the crowd moving in unison, from the older gen to the new music lovers; it was an honour to witness the funk legends getting the recognition they deserve.
Across the way at Terminal, Nala Sinephro’s ambient harping provided a moment's solace from the bustle of Brockwell Park's most soulful Sunday. With earth-shaking sub-bass, her explorations of sound and texture provided Brixton with a glimpse into the jazz of tomorrow.
Just as we thought the day couldn’t get any better, our headliners, Ezra Collective transformed the Mainline into the biggest dancefloor in the UK, paying respects to the late Angie Stone with a cover of “Wish I Didn’t Miss You’, and encouraging us all to dance like no one's watching.
Free Nationals brought their euphoric energy to the Terminal stage, giving us the perfect golden hour soundtrack, whilst over at the Caboose, Egyptian Lover’s freakathon took us from classic electro to 808 wizardry.
Closing out the night, our headliner, the angelic Michael Kiwanuka, had us all in our feels as he serenaded us with his soul-stirring vocals. It was the perfect ending to the most magical day.
We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again, to everyone who made this year a party to remember, thank you so much.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year x
